An Official Intro

Hey everyone!

We wanted to reintroduce ourselves! We are Eliza and Dillon, the faces behind Holistic Bloom.

After taking a much longer break from social media engagement than anticipated (hello chaos of now having a 2 year old toddler), we are back and excited to connect with you all again!

Although we have been a little quiet on here over the last couple of years, we have still very much been working behind the scenes. Our focus during this time has really been on our clients, continuing to grow our practice and making sure we were able to provide the best support we could, while also navigating life with a toddler.

Dillon and Eliza started Holistic Bloom in 2023 after noticing a need for more sustainable and ethical business practices, with an emphasis on working within our own capacity and maintaining a healthy work life balance.

A little bit about Eliza

Eliza is an Occupational Therapist who graduated with distinctions from Flinders University in 2020 with a Masters in Occupational Therapy and Bachelor of Health Science. Eliza is currently also studying her Graduate Diploma in Psychology, with hopes to continue through to Honours and Masters in the coming years.

Eliza started her career in paediatrics, with a big focus on neurodivergent children with complex physical and cognitive presentations. During this time, she gained experience and training in Polyvagal Theory, DIR Floortime, interoception, toileting, sensory integration theory and a range of standardised assessments including the Beery VMI, BOT, Peabody and Vineland, amongst many others.

After some time in paediatrics, Eliza began to transition out of this demographic and found her niche in supporting late diagnosed adults and teens with complex and intersectional mental health and psychosocial disability. Her approach is grounded in trauma informed and neuroaffirming practice, with a strong focus on understanding the individual and the different environments and systems that impact them.

Eliza has also completed extensive training and gained experience in Functional Capacity Assessments and Home and Living Assessments, particularly within the tribunal process, where she has really valued being able to support and advocate alongside clients going through this process.

Eliza offers Telehealth appointments Australia wide and consults in person from our friendly and warm clinic space in Myrtle Bank for ongoing therapy clients. She also has limited capacity for Functional Capacity Assessments and Home and Living Assessments.

A little bit about Dillon

Dillon is Holistic Bloom's Allied Health Assistant, mentor and support worker.

Dillon completed a Bachelor of Medical Science in 2021, followed by Therapy Assistant training in 2022. He is now also undertaking his Graduate Diploma in Psychology alongside Eliza.

Both Eliza and Dillon have a strong passion for the complex relationship between neurodivergence and mental health, which underpins many of the values within our practice. Our approach is also informed by our own lived and personal experiences within these areas.

Dillon supports clients in their homes and communities to build skills, with a particular passion for social connection and a neuroaffirming approach.

He has a strong interest in education and different learning styles, allowing him to tailor his approach to each individual client. Dillon values strong rapport, safety and trust within his client relationships, recognising that these are important foundations for skill building, confidence and motivation.

Dillon hopes to transition into a counselling role once he has completed his Graduate Diploma in Psychology. Dillon also facilitates our online social skills groups, currently running a minecraft and dungeons and dragons group on the weekends.

Dillon currently has capacity for new adult and adolescent clients in a mentoring, AHA and support work capacity across Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills.

We are really looking forward to being a little more present on here again and reconnecting with you all.

Thanks for sticking around while we took our very unplanned extended social media break!
